Colorado Away 1 – Sat Jun 30th, 2012
Our very first match in the Timbers MLS era was against the Colorado Rapids and boy did Denver roll out the red carpet for us! There were free Evan Williams shots, scarf trading, pedi-cabs, micro-brewery tours, mini-bus trips, wee-hour shenanigans and that’s just what we can remember!
We have a fantastic relationship with the supporter groups in Colorado and so this year the Rapids supporters groups (there are more than 1) are offering us pre-match gatherings and a tailgate at the stadium (with a whole pig). The air may be thin but the slices of pork will be thick; the Mile High City beckons Timbers Army!

Tickets can be purchased directly from the Colorado Rapids via the link below or by contacting Marcus Myrick, Groups Sales. We will be in sections 100 & 101, please treat these areas as general admission.

GROUND TRANSPORTATION
Because Dicks Sporting Goods Park is well outside of central Denver we strongly encourage you to take the bus to the stadium. Please do not drive intoxicated.
Buses to carry all Timbers supporters will be departing the Celtic Tavern (1805 Blake Street) at 4:30. Please arrive to the Pub before 4pm to ensure that you have a seat.
Buses will depart DSG about 20-30 minutes after last whistle and will return to the Celtic Tavern.
Please be aware that these buses are arranged in conjunction with Class VI & Pid Army–two organizations we have excellent relations with–you will not be in TA-exclusive transportation so please be respectful.
A small donation of $5 is requested to cover a portion of 107ist’s expenses in providing the bus.
Match Day
If you have items to check-in (flags, banners, drums, etc.) please arrive at Gate A at 6:30. Otherwise Timbers can enter through any gate prior to the match and make their way to sections 100 & 101. Please note that these sections are considered General Admission for Timbers Army.
Weekend Events with Rapids Supporter Groups:
There are a number of Colorado Rapids supporter groups who are organizing socializing opportunities for Timbers Army supporters.
Friday night
No doubt a few of Bulldog Supporters Group will be hanging at the British Bulldog (2052 Stout Street) before possibly going off to other places downtown.
Saturday
Pre-match gathering at the Celtic Tavern with Class VI & Pid Army. You need to be at Celtic by 4pm if you plan to take buses to DSG.
Tailgates: There are 2 tailgates at DSG pre-match, both will be held at West VIP Parking just across from Gate F and the Cantina (the SW corner of the stadium). TA are encouraged to visit both–what fun!
Starting at 4pm Class VI & Pid Army are co-hosting a tailgate that includes their homebrew competition. In addition to local bevs, there will also be a supply of hot dogs, burgers & non-homebrew kegs (probably Wynkoop brewery). Tailgate is free to all comers but donations are gladly accepted.
BSG will be roasting a pig at their tailgate (same as in 2011). $5 gets you all you can eat food and all you can drink from their 6 kegs, plus an entry to their raffle. For more information on the BSG tailgates visit: http://www.bulldogsupporters.com/tailgates/
Tailgates usually wrap up about 6:30 to allow fans to get set up & get barmy in DSG!
After the game the Bulldog & Celtic Tavern will the busiest spots. Provided the game goes smoothly, you are welcome to come by after the game & join the Rapids SGs.
Sunday
If anybody is hanging around on the Sunday, the Three Lions (2239 E Colfax Ave) will be the place to watch the Euro 2012 final (1.45pm KO). It will be super busy & you are advised to get there at least 2 hours before kick-off if you want a table). The place really is a soccer cathedral!

Because the 2nd Colorado away match is on a Wednesday we are not running an organized trip.
Traveling TA are welcome to join Class VI + Pid Army for another tailgate. Beer, soda & hotdogs will be available at the VIP West Parking lot of DSG Park starting at 4:30pm. Donations appreciated.
