Together with fellow MLS fans around the league, the ISC would like to express our severe disapproval of comments made about female MLS fans by MLSSoccer.com Senior Editor Simon Borg on the MLS podcast “Extra Time” this week. All supporter groups know the incredible value of the passion that supporters – regardless of their gender – bring to MLS. We applaud the actions MLS has taken in response to this situation. The ISC hopes that MLS and all their employees work to stay connected to all those who put so much time and effort into supporting the league.

I’m the pregnant fan whose email he was responding to when he said hard-core female fans are a “turn-off” in Monday’s podcast. So Borg was directly insulting a GIRL (yep I do say girls, not boys, in that chant cuz, um, that’s what I am) from the North End. The guy just has no idea what he’s missing out on. I wonder what his wife thinks of it all.
Surprised anybody actually heard this, since extra time is a huge sink hole of nothingness. Anybody who has ever heard Simon Borg is aware that he doesn’t know Jack, well now we know he doesn’t know Jill either.
They edited out his comments from the podcast. You can’t hear them even if you want to.
Simon Borg is a completely worthless human being, and should be fired by the MLS.
Glad to see him suspended and put through the drudgery of sensitivity training… Not only are his comments inappropriate, but completely off base. I have literally commented on how much MORE attractive I find a woman when she’s screaming her lungs out in the north end…
