PORTLAND, Ore. – April 6, 2012 – The Timbers Army FC Initiative has partnered with adidas to provide uniforms and soccer balls for all teams playing under the Timbers Army FC Initiative.
“We are very excited to work with the Timbers Army FC Initiative to provide adidas soccer apparel and hardgoods for their teams,” said Antonio Zea, director of soccer for adidas America. “The passion that these supporters have for the Timbers extends to the soccer field and we look forward to watching a wide range of ages and skill levels play this season.”
Teams playing under the Timbers Army FC umbrella will be able to order their uniforms and equipment locally through 107ist partner, The Far Post.
“This agreement is a wonderful deal for all teams playing under Timbers Army FC and is a key part of the foundation of the initiative,” said Scott Swearingen, President of Portland’s107 Independent Supporters Trust. “All of the Timbers Army FC teams have been very excited to be partnering with such a well-respected company with local ties in adidas. The fact we are also able to work with The Far Post is icing on the cake.”
About the Timbers Army FC Initiative
The Timbers Army FC Initiative was created by 107ist in late 2011 to organize the existing Timbers Army teams playing in the various leagues around Portland. Since the launch TAFC has now grown to a group of 10 teams allowing members of various ages, skill levels and experience to play the game. Many 107ist partners have assisted the initiative by helping facilitate, organize, and sponsor the teams. The Timbers Army FC framework isn’t just about soccer, it also consists of the teams volunteering on the various charitable projects of the 107 Independent Supporters Trust such as Operation Pitch Invasion, AC PDX and a multitude of other community endeavors.

The 107ist (107 Independent Supporters Trust) is a member-based non-profit organization open to anyone (regardless of where they sit in the stadium) who loves soccer, the Timbers, Portland, and especially the combination of the three.
