101st FC

2011 brought the finest in soccer to Portland, I’m not talking about the Timbers move up to the MLS I’m actually referring to 101st F.C. The name 101st F.C. not only represents the area we occupy during Timbers matches but was coincidentally the number of names we rejected before deciding on 101st F.C. Our badge is a symbol of true class, a split colored shield acts as a backdrop to the most noble creature in the entire animal kingdom, of course I am referring to the majestic Dachshund. They have selected an animal which represents the tenacity and passion they will have on the pitch. 101st F.C. introduced themselves to the world by winning the Division V Championship in their first season and earning promotion to Division IV where they currently play.

When the members of 101st F.C. aren’t playing soccer or watching the Timbers you can find them walking their beloved flock of wiener dogs along the streets of Portland while they serenade all on-lookers with their rallying cry, “Let the big dog eat, let the big dog eat!.” If you’re lucky enough to watch them play you may hear this song and learn it’s meaning.

101st F.C. prides itself as a club of inclusion, all skill levels are welcome, which will become obvious if you watch them play. This club hopes to share their pride of the Timbers, TA and city of Portland with all. 101st F.C. have started in D-5 futsal with hopes of someday getting enough players to start an outdoor team while continuing to play futsal during the off season so we never have to stop playing.
